The Climb

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal information The Climb collects, why, and what you can do about it. We keep it in plain English on purpose.

Who we are

The Climb is operated by The Mono Hub, a sole-trader business based in the United Kingdom. For any privacy question or request, contact support@themonohub.com. The Mono Hub is the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect

• Your account — the email address you sign up with, and a securely hashed password (or a Google sign-in identifier if you use Google).
• What you create in the app — your vision, the photos you add, your camps, leaps, daily steps, notes and check-ins. This is your content; we store it so the app works and syncs across your devices.
• Basic technical data — the minimum needed to run the service (such as a session cookie to keep you signed in).

We do not collect payment details. When paid plans launch, payments will be handled by Stripe and your card details go to them, not us.

Why we use it

• To run your account and show you your own vision, goals and progress.
• To sync your data across the devices you sign in on.
• To answer you if you contact us for support.

Our lawful basis is performing the service you signed up for. We do not use your information for advertising and we never sell it.

Your photos

The photos you add are stored only to show your vision back to you inside the app. They are tied to your account and are not public. You can remove a photo at any time, and deleting your account removes them.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your data. We use a small number of trusted providers to run the service:

• DigitalOcean — hosting, where your account and content are stored.
• Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google.
• Stripe — only when paid plans launch, to process payments.

Where it is stored and how it is kept

Your data is stored on our server (a DigitalOcean droplet). We take reasonable steps to protect it, including hashed passwords and access controls. The Climb is in beta, so please do not store anything you could not bear to lose, and keep your own copies of photos that matter.

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we remove your personal data and content, except anything we are legally required to retain.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to: give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or export it. To do any of these, email support@themonohub.com. If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Cookies and local storage

We use a sign-in cookie to keep you logged in, and your browser's local storage to cache your data for speed and offline use. We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Children

The Climb is not intended for children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app.
